Job centre plus support contract

A selection of 'one day' modules are available to support participants with jobsearch activities.

We have trained and qualified staff who can help you with advice on which course to take, advise on job search activities, assist with the completion of application forms and give helpful hints on interview techniques.

They can also help in more specialised areas like literacy and numeracy difficulties, dyslexia screening and challenging behaviour.

The areas of support are:

  • Realistic jobs for me – Help to develop the clients belief in their own abilities and develop a positive attitude towards employment whilst re-energising the clients focus to get back in to employment.
  • Effective job search – help to recognise transferrable skills and strengths / weaknesses to broaden the range of alternative job searches whilst setting realistic career plans.
  • Finding and getting a job – Help is available to find vacancies, write letter and complete applications in line with producing an electronic CV. Support with interview skills and overall communication is also available.
  • Skills for work – preparation for the transition from home to work whilst developing overall communication skills and IT literacy will be reviewed and improved.
  • Job search support centre – A 6 weeks access to resources including email email, internet, telephones and stationary whilst providing professional advice and support to clients to aid with job searching, letter writing, application forms and CVs.
  • Additional module for newly employed – If you have recently become unemployed through redundancy support is available to plan your route back in to work

q: How long do apprenticeships and NVQs take to complete?

The time it may take you to complete an Apprenticeship or NVQ can vary.  Although there is no specific and strict timescale, it is usually expected that it should take you between six months and two years, although we do expect learners to work at their pace.
